Bay View Middle School was proud to present Bay View Does Broadway: A Celebration of 20 Years May 20-22, 2021.

Involved in this year’s musical were 77 student cast and crew members who took their families on a historical musical journey of Bay View’s 20-year musical history.

This year’s show was especially sweet as the last time a musical was held at Bay View was in March 2019 when students performed Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. In March 2020, students were set to perform All Shook Up, but the show was cancelled on opening night due to COVID-19. To conclude this year’s show, the 8th grade cast of All Shook Up finally got its chance to perform "Jailhouse Rock," the opening number from last year's production.

From classics like The Music Man and Annie, to Disney musicals like Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid, Bay View featured the wide variety of musical productions it has performed during the past 20 years.

The show safely featured students through large dance numbers, small groups, and soloists. Students performed the show-stopping numbers from each of the past 20 musicals, bringing back original choreography. In addition, the show featured video footage of past Bay View Musicals and check-ins with alumni updates.
